Annual Jimmy Fund Golf Drive For Cancer Research
May 25 – September 3 2007 As members of Sigma Alpha Lambda, we would like to extend the opportunity for each of you to contribute to the Jimmy Fund through the Sigma Alpha Lambda Annual Jimmy Fund Golf Drive for Cancer Research fundraiser. The event is designed to have fun, while offering continued opportunities for our members to serve others in the community. Each member will be given an opportunity to raise funds by obtaining "sponsors" to play golf. Those sponsors may make contributions for every hole played or every round played during the period of May 25th – September 3rd. Sponsors may also contribute a flat amount, say $10.00 for the entire event.
It really doesn’t matter how the sponsors make their pledge and you do not have to be a good golfer to be part of this event. Just get involved, find some sponsors, make a difference and have fun. Help assist Sigma Alpha Lambda make a difference in supporting the Jimmy Fund.
The steps are easy:
- Download the brochure and sponsor form from the link below.
- Seek sponsors to make pledges for each hole, each round, or a flat amount.
- Play some golf from May 25th – September 3rd.
- Retain your scorecards as documentation for your sponsors.
- Collect the pledge amounts from your sponsors (CHECKS SHOULD BE MADE PAYABLE DIRECTLY TO THE JIMMY FUND).
- Forward your sponsor form and the checks you received from each sponsor to the Sigma Alpha Lambda National Office.
There will be awards for the top three fundraisers as determined by the total amount of contributions made to the Jimmy Fund on behalf of that participant. Your pledge form will be used in conjunction with the checks to determine the winners of the awards identified below and the checks will be forwarded directly to the Jimmy Fund.
The award categories are as follows based on most donations received:
- First Prize – A $250 American Express Gift Card, and your choice of a Sigma Alpha Lambda Sweatshirt or a set of Honor Cords
- Second Prize – A $100 American Express Gift Card, and your choice of a Sigma Alpha Lambda Sweatshirt or a set of Honor Cords
- Third Prize – A $50 American Express Gift Card, and your choice of a Sigma Alpha Lambda Sweatshirt or a set of Honor Cords
